Including filter system and high-performance 1,2,3-Trichloropropane filter.
1,2,3-trichloropropane is a man-made industrial chemical that can linger in groundwater and sometimes appear in drinking water at very low concentrations. Because it has no reliable taste, smell, or visible signs, the only way to know if it’s present is through proper testing. Many Wausau homeowners choose whole-house filtration so every faucet, shower, and appliance is protected — not just a single point like the kitchen sink.
Seeing 1,2,3-trichloropropane on a water test can raise questions about everyday uses such as cooking, bathing, and laundry. The encouraging part is that residential treatment approaches are well established and effective when matched to the specific situation. Which option is best depends on your water source and the level found, so a professional assessment in Wausau will help determine the appropriate technology and system size for your home.
The single most effective whole-house filter type for tackling 1,2,3-trichloropropane is granular activated carbon (GAC) designed for chemical adsorption, installed as a dedicated whole-house carbon tank. Activated carbon removes many organic contaminants by trapping them in its porous structure as water flows through. Because 1,2,3-trichloropropane can be more persistent than some compounds, the specific carbon grade, contact time, and flow rate must be sized for your Wausau property to ensure performance across showers, faucets, appliances, and outdoor spigots.
Mr. Pure Water can design and install a whole-house activated carbon system for Wausau homes, sized to meet your household’s usage and pressure requirements. We commonly include pre-filtration to remove sediment and protect the carbon bed, which helps the system perform consistently over time. Like all adsorption systems, the carbon media requires periodic replacement based on water use and contaminant load, so we’ll plan maintenance intervals up front. When installed correctly, a single GAC tank delivers treated water throughout your Wausau home without needing multiple point-of-use units.
