Including filter system and high-performance 8:2 FTS filter.
8:2 FTS is one of the PFAS family—long-lasting, human-made compounds that can enter drinking water. Residents in Esto may learn about it from water reports, local news, or private testing. Because 8:2 FTS doesn’t change the taste, smell, or look of water, you can’t rely on senses to know it’s present. If you’re worried about exposure in your Esto house, the sensible next step is selecting treatment that targets PFAS broadly, including 8:2 FTS.
If 8:2 FTS is in your home’s supply, it can be used for everyday tasks like cooking, bathing, laundry, and dishwashing. Point-of-use devices only protect a single faucet, which leaves other taps and showers in your Esto home untreated. A whole-house filter treats water at the point it enters the house so every fixture and appliance gets treated water, reducing guesswork and helping protect plumbing and appliances from contaminants including PFAS such as 8:2 FTS.
To reduce 8:2 FTS throughout an Esto home, the most effective single-filter whole-house choice is a PFAS-rated activated carbon system—usually a high-capacity granular activated carbon (GAC) unit. Activated carbon adsorbs many organic contaminants and is commonly used for PFAS reduction. Because PFAS compounds behave differently, success depends on having sufficient carbon media and appropriate contact time rather than a small cartridge filter; a properly sized whole-house GAC system treats all incoming water rather than relying on a single-sink solution.
A whole-house activated carbon filter for 8:2 FTS is installed on the main water line so treated water reaches showers, bathrooms, and appliances in your Esto home. System performance varies with flow rate, water chemistry, and how long the carbon has been in service, so choosing adequate media capacity and scheduling timely replacements is important. These systems are often paired with a prefilter to capture sediment that could clog or channel the carbon bed. For consistent PFAS reduction, including 8:2 FTS, pick a whole-house GAC system sized and maintained for household flow and use.
