Acephate in Florence Florida Water

Unhealthy Levels of Acephate in the Water Supply of Florence Florida Homes

Acephate is an organophosphate pesticide used in farming and some landscaping work. When it’s applied outdoors, small amounts can move offsite through runoff, spray drift, or improper disposal and can enter water sources that feed homes. Because acephate dissolves readily in water, it can travel more easily than many other pesticides once it reaches a water supply. In Florence, homeowners won’t always notice a change in taste or smell if acephate is present, so testing is the most reliable way to know whether it’s in your water.

Even when a utility follows required treatment practices, contaminant levels can fluctuate with seasonal use and upstream conditions, and private wells are the homeowner’s responsibility to monitor. If you live in Florence and are worried about acephate exposure when drinking, cooking, bathing, or doing laundry, treating water where it enters your house is a practical solution. A point-of-entry whole-house system delivers consistent reduction across every tap in your Florida home.
