Including filter system and high-performance Aldicarb filter.
Aldicarb is a pesticide that can enter drinking water when runoff or leaching carries it from treated areas into groundwater or surface supplies. Because it has no telltale taste or odor, homeowners in Argyle often only discover it through a lab test or a utility disclosure. Over time the parent chemical and its residues may change, so if you want a clearer picture of what’s coming from your pipes, start with precise water testing to identify any concerns.
As aldicarb degrades it can form related compounds like aldicarb sulfoxide and aldicarb sulfone, and laboratory reports may list these names separately even though they stem from the same source. If your Argyle water test shows any of these terms, treat them as part of a single water-quality issue. For families who want protection across baths, laundry and drinking taps, considering a whole-house solution makes sense rather than limiting treatment to one faucet.
To reduce aldicarb in household water, the best single whole-house option is a granular activated carbon (GAC) filter. Carbon adsorbs many organic contaminants that sediment filters won’t catch, and for Argyle homes the important factors are tank size, carbon bed depth and sufficient contact time to handle peak flow. When a system is sized correctly it provides consistent treatment for showers, washing machines and kitchen taps throughout the house.
A properly designed whole-house GAC system will also help remove aldicarb sulfoxide and aldicarb sulfone, since these related organics behave similarly in treatment. Performance depends on your water chemistry, contaminant levels and household use, so pairing a targeted Argyle water test with the right media volume and maintenance plan is important. Carbon does exhaust over time, so routine changeouts keep the system effective — Mr. Pure Water can size, install and service a whole-home carbon filter to help ensure treated water at every tap.
