Including filter system and high-performance Aldicarb filter.
Aldicarb is a pesticide that can enter water when it leaches from treated land into groundwater or runs off into surface supplies. Because it has no color or odor, most Meridian homeowners wouldn’t notice it without a lab test or a report from their water provider. Over time aldicarb use and regulations have changed, so concerns often center on lingering residues or breakdown products. If you want to know exactly what’s in your household water in Meridian, start with a professional water test.
When aldicarb degrades it can create related chemicals such as aldicarb sulfoxide and aldicarb sulfone. These breakdown products may appear on lab results under their own names, even though they originate from the same pesticide. If any of those names show up in your report, treat them collectively as part of the same contamination issue. For Meridian homes, a whole-house solution is the best way to limit exposure from every faucet and fixture, not just a single point-of-use.
The most effective single-filter choice for reducing aldicarb in household water is a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) system. GAC removes many organic contaminants by adsorption—something sediment filters can’t do alone—so a properly sized carbon tank with sufficient bed depth and contact time is essential. In Meridian, that means selecting a unit matched to your home’s peak flow so treatment remains steady for showers, laundry and drinking water throughout the house.
A properly designed whole-home GAC system can also reduce aldicarb sulfoxide and aldicarb sulfone, since those compounds behave similarly in water. Performance depends on your water chemistry, contaminant levels, and household use, so combine carbon treatment with a targeted test to determine the right media volume and replacement schedule. Carbon does become exhausted over time, so routine maintenance is important. Mr. Pure Water can help Meridian homeowners size and install a whole-house carbon filter to deliver treated water to every tap.
