Including filter system and high-performance Aldicarb filter.
Aldicarb is a pesticide that can reach drinking water when it migrates from treated land into groundwater or surface supplies. Because it has no taste or odor, most homeowners in Prosperity wouldn’t notice it without a lab test or a report from their water provider. Over time the way aldicarb has been used and regulated changes, so people often worry about lingering residues or their breakdown products. If you want a clear picture of what’s in your Prosperity water, starting with a proper water test is the most reliable step.
As aldicarb degrades it can form related compounds such as aldicarb sulfoxide and aldicarb sulfone. Labs may list those names separately on a report, even though they point back to the same parent pesticide. If your Prosperity sample shows any of these terms, consider them part of the same contamination concern. Treating the whole house — not just the kitchen tap — helps reduce exposure from showers, laundry and other household uses.
To reduce aldicarb in home water, the most effective single whole-house option is a granular activated carbon (GAC) filter. GAC removes many organic contaminants by adsorption, which sediment-only systems can’t do. For Prosperity homes it’s important to pick a correctly sized tank with enough carbon and contact time to handle your peak flows; when the bed depth and flow rate are matched to the house, the system delivers consistent treatment to every tap.
A properly designed whole-house GAC system can also lower levels of aldicarb sulfoxide and aldicarb sulfone, since they’re chemically related. Because how well carbon performs depends on water chemistry, contaminant concentration and household use patterns, pairing a targeted water test with the system helps determine the right carbon volume and replacement schedule. Routine maintenance is important because carbon does eventually become exhausted. Mr. Pure Water in Prosperity can size and install a whole-home GAC filter so your family gets treated water at every faucet.
