Including filter system and high-performance Asbestos filter.
Asbestos in drinking water usually appears as microscopic, suspended mineral fragments rather than something you can taste or smell. These asbestos fibers can enter plumbing as materials age and shed tiny particles into the supply, and their presence may fluctuate with changes in flow or disturbances in pipes. Many Gritney homeowners find reassurance in filtration that focuses on particle removal for the entire house so every faucet and shower is treated.
Unlike dissolved chemical contaminants, asbestos behaves like sediment and is best removed by physically trapping particles. Fibers can be present even when water looks clear because they’re often too small to see. While testing is the way to know for certain, families around Gritney often choose a preventative whole-house approach that intercepts fibers before water reaches showers, taps, and appliances.
To remove asbestos, the most effective single-stage option is a true sub-micron mechanical barrier—an absolute-rated membrane-style sediment filter. Because asbestos fibers are particulate, size-exclusion is the reliable method: a properly sized cartridge with very fine micron ratings will trap fibers instead of trying to rely on adsorption. When installed at the point of entry in a Gritney home, this filter protects the entire plumbing system without changing daily habits.
At Mr. Pure Water we match filter housings and cartridge sizes to maintain whole-home flow for Gritney residences while keeping filtration fine enough to target asbestos fibers. The system acts like a fine sieve, lowering particle loads that often travel with fibers, and routine cartridge replacements preserve filtration performance and prevent pressure drop as debris accumulates. If other concerns are present, this particulate stage can be paired with additional treatments, but it remains the core defense against asbestos in household water.
