Bisphenol A (BPA) in Isles of Capri Florida Water

Unhealthy Levels of Bisphenol A (BPA) in the Water Supply of Isles of Capri Florida Homes

Bisphenol A (BPA) is a man-made compound used in some plastics and resins that can sometimes end up in water in very small quantities. Most residents hear about BPA in food packaging, but it can also leach into water during manufacturing, storage, or distribution when plastics contact water. Because BPA is typically a trace contaminant, it won’t change your water’s taste, smell, or clarity, so many Isles of Capri homeowners who want to limit exposure choose to address it proactively at the tap.

BPA is often called an “emerging” contaminant because it can appear at low concentrations that basic sediment filters don’t catch. It may enter household water through contact with certain plastics, liners, or coatings, or via environmental pathways affecting source waters. Swapping to BPA-free kitchen products helps, but it doesn’t treat every faucet in a coastal Collier County home. A whole-house approach gives consistent treated water for drinking, cooking, bathing and laundry across Isles of Capri properties—important in a humid subtropical coastal climate where plumbing faces salt-air and storm-surge exposure.
