Carbaryl in Key Colony Beach Florida Water

Unhealthy Levels of Carbaryl in the Water Supply of Key Colony Beach Florida Homes

Carbaryl is a pesticide that can reach water when it runs off treated lawns or other areas into storm drains and waterways. Many Key Colony Beach homeowners prefer to limit any trace exposure in water used for drinking, cooking, and bathing, since carbaryl is intended to affect insects and may be unwanted in household supplies. At low concentrations it often won’t change taste or smell, so the surest way to know what’s in your plumbing is a professional water test and a plan tailored to your home.

Even clear water can contain carbaryl, particularly around seasonal shifts in runoff that affect coastal Monroe County and the Keys. Point-of-use devices at a single sink can help, but they don’t protect showers, laundry, ice makers, or outdoor hose bibs. For Key Colony Beach residents who want broader peace of mind—especially with salt air that can speed corrosion and occasional hurricane-season outages—a whole-house treatment at the incoming water line gives protection to every tap and appliance in the house.
