Including filter system and high-performance Chlordecone filter.
Chlordecone is a long-lasting pesticide that can remain in the environment long after it was applied. If it reaches a drinking water source, it may appear at very low concentrations that are difficult to detect without testing. Because it doesn’t produce a noticeable taste or smell, many Chason homeowners have no obvious sign of contamination. That’s why some households choose to treat water where it enters the house so every tap gets the same protection.
Even when water looks clear in Chason, trace pollutants such as chlordecone can be present and may concern homeowners seeking extra safety. Treating only one faucet can leave other uses—showers, laundry and appliances—exposed, so many local residents prefer whole-house filtration. Installing treatment at the main line helps reduce unwanted compounds before they move through every fixture in your home without changing day-to-day habits.
For reducing chlordecone, an activated carbon whole-house filter is generally the single most effective option. Carbon media adsorbs many organic pesticides and similar compounds by trapping them on its surface and inside its pores. Unlike basic sediment filters, a properly designed carbon system targets small amounts of organic contaminants and, when placed at the main water line in a Chason home, treats water before it reaches any faucet or appliance.
A correctly sized whole-house carbon system provides sufficient media volume and contact time for better adsorption of chlordecone as water passes through. While the household supply continues uninterrupted, the carbon captures contaminants; however, performance depends on matching the system to your home’s flow and keeping the media replaced or serviced on schedule. Mr. Pure Water can help Chason homeowners determine the right size and setup based on your goals and any water test results you have.
