Chlorine Dioxide in Orlovista Florida Water

Unhealthy Levels of Chlorine Dioxide in the Water Supply of Orlovista Florida Homes

Chlorine dioxide is a powerful disinfectant sometimes used to control microbes in drinking water. When levels are higher than desired, it can give tap and shower water a chemical taste or noticeable odor, and many homeowners notice drier-feeling skin or hair after bathing. In Orlovista and the greater Orlando area, where water tends to be hard and can already cause scale, an oxidizing smell or harsher-feeling water is a common reason residents ask us to investigate.

Because chlorine dioxide is reactive, it can form related byproducts that affect taste and smell even when water appears clear. Those odors are often stronger in hot water or after water has sat in pipes, so you may smell them more during showers or when running the tap for a while. If you rely on bottled water for drinking but still notice odors at home in places like the kitchen and bathrooms around Orlovista, treating the water at the point of entry will improve water used for cooking, bathing, laundry, and cleaning throughout your house.
