Including filter system and high-performance Chloroform filter.
When disinfectants such as chlorine react with natural organic matter during treatment, chloroform can form and end up in tap water. Also called trichloromethane, it’s one of several disinfection byproducts people talk about. Creels homeowners may sometimes notice a change in taste or a faint smell, particularly with hot water for showers or washing dishes. Even if the water looks clear, compounds like chloroform can still be present and doing their work unseen.
Because chloroform is volatile, it can off-gas into the air while you bathe, cook, or run laundry — not just when you drink from the tap. That’s why many families in Creels choose to treat water where it enters the house rather than relying only on pitchers or under-sink units. A whole-house system reduces what your household is exposed to every day, helping water feel and smell fresher without changing how you use your home.
The most effective single-filter option for lowering chloroform in household water is a whole-house activated carbon filter. Carbon media adsorbs a range of organic contaminants, including trichloromethane, as water flows through the system. Installed at your main water line in Creels, the filter treats every tap so showers, baths, and kitchen water all benefit. This approach targets removal without introducing additional chemicals to your supply.
To work reliably, a carbon whole-house filter needs sufficient contact time and enough media volume for your home’s flow rate, plus regular cartridge or media changes so it doesn’t become exhausted. Mr. Pure Water can size and install an activated carbon unit for Creels plumbing and daily water use, then keep it running quietly in the background. The outcome is steadier water quality throughout your home, not just at a single faucet.
