Including filter system and high-performance Chloroform filter.
Chloroform may form when disinfectants such as chlorine react with organic matter during water treatment; it’s also called trichloromethane and is part of a larger group known as disinfection byproducts. You might notice a change in taste or a faint chemical smell coming from faucets or steam during hot showers and dishwashing. Even if your water appears clear in Enon, compounds like chloroform can still be present at levels you can’t see.
Because chloroform is volatile, it can move into the air while you bathe, cook, or do laundry — not only when you drink water. That’s why many Enon homeowners choose to treat water where it enters the house, rather than relying solely on pitchers or under-sink units. A whole-house system is a practical way to reduce your family’s everyday exposure and deliver water that simply feels cleaner without changing how you use plumbing around the home.
The most effective single-filter option for reducing chloroform in household water is a whole-house activated carbon filter. Carbon media adsorbs many organic contaminants, including trichloromethane, as water flows through the tank. When installed on the main supply line in an Enon home, it treats water for every tap — improving showers, baths, and kitchen water at once — and does so without adding chemicals to your supply.
To work well, a carbon whole-house filter needs sufficient contact time and the correct media volume to match your home’s flow rate, plus scheduled cartridge or media changes so the bed doesn’t become exhausted. Mr. Pure Water can help size and install an activated carbon unit for Enon plumbing and typical household use, then set it up to run quietly in the background. The result is more consistent water quality throughout your home, not just at a single faucet.
