Including filter system and high-performance Chloroform filter.
Chloroform can form when disinfectants such as chlorine react with natural organic matter during water treatment; it’s also called trichloromethane and is part of a larger group known as disinfection byproducts. In Felkel homes you might first notice subtle changes in taste or a different smell, especially from hot water used for showers or washing dishes. Even if tap water appears clear, compounds like chloroform can still be present and go unnoticed without targeted treatment.
Because chloroform is volatile, it can move into the air while you shower, cook, or run laundry—not just when you take a drink. That’s why many homeowners in Felkel choose to treat water where it enters the house rather than relying only on pitchers or under-sink units. Whole-house treatment reduces the amount of this compound your family encounters every day, delivering cleaner-feeling water without changing how you use fixtures around the home.
The most effective single-filter solution for reducing chloroform in household water is a whole-house activated carbon filter. Carbon media adsorbs many organic compounds, including trichloromethane, as water flows through the system. Installed on the main water line, this approach treats every tap in your Felkel home—improving shower, bath, and kitchen water simultaneously—while avoiding added chemicals in your water.
To work well, a whole-house carbon filter needs sufficient contact time and the correct media volume for your home’s flow rate, plus regular cartridge or media replacement so the bed doesn’t become exhausted. Mr. Pure Water can size and install an activated carbon unit for Felkel plumbing and daily water use, then maintain it so it operates quietly in the background and delivers more consistent water quality throughout your home.
