Including filter system and high-performance Chloroform filter.
When disinfectants such as chlorine react with natural organic matter during treatment, chloroform can form in tap water; it’s also called trichloromethane and is part of the broader group known as disinfection byproducts. Homeowners in Schall Circle may detect subtle changes in taste or an odd smell — often more noticeable with hot water used for showers or washing dishes. Even if your water appears clear, volatile compounds like chloroform can still be present, so visible clarity isn’t a guarantee of absence.
Because chloroform is volatile, it can off-gas into the air when you bathe, cook, or do laundry — not only when you drink water. That’s why many Schall Circle residents choose to treat water where it enters the house instead of relying solely on pitchers or under-sink units. A whole-house system reduces what your family encounters at every tap, helping provide water that feels and smells cleaner without changing how you use your home.
For household reduction of chloroform, a whole-house activated carbon filter is generally the most effective single-filter option; the carbon media adsorbs many organic compounds, including trichloromethane, as water moves through the system. Installed on the main supply line in Schall Circle homes, this approach treats every faucet and shower so you get improved kitchen, bath, and laundry water simultaneously. It’s a removal-focused solution that doesn’t add chemicals to your water.
To work well, a carbon whole-house filter needs sufficient contact time and the correct media volume for your home’s flow rate, and it requires routine cartridge or media changes so the bed doesn’t become exhausted. In Schall Circle — where hard water and mineral scale from limestone aquifers are common — Mr. Pure Water can size a whole-house activated carbon unit for your plumbing and water usage and install it to run quietly in the background. The outcome is steadier water quality across the whole house, not just at a single tap.
