Including filter system and high-performance Endrin filter.
Endrin is a synthetic pesticide that can linger in the environment long after its use, and it sometimes shows up in water because of past agricultural or industrial sources. You likely won’t detect endrin by taste, smell, or sight, so routine testing is the usual way homeowners discover it. If you live in Lely and are worried about potential contamination, a proper water test is the first step toward understanding your family’s exposure.
Endrin is an organic compound, so it behaves differently from the minerals that make Southwest Florida’s groundwater hard and scale-forming. Even at very low concentrations, many homeowners choose to reduce it as part of improving overall water quality. A whole-house system treats the water as it enters your Lely home—so water used for cooking, bathing, laundry and brushing teeth all receive the same protection rather than addressing only a single tap.
To reduce endrin, the most effective single-filter choice is a whole-house activated carbon tank sized to your household flow and usage. Activated carbon adsorbs a wide range of organic contaminants, including pesticide-type compounds, as water moves through the media. Compared with small under-sink cartridges, a correctly sized whole-home carbon system gives the contact time and capacity needed to treat water for every faucet in homes across Lely and nearby Collier County neighborhoods.
Filter performance depends on your water chemistry, flow rates, and the amount of carbon media, so the system should be tailored to your Lely home and maintained regularly. When carbon becomes saturated it will lose effectiveness, so timely media replacement is essential to keep reducing endrin. Many homeowners in our region also add a sediment prefilter to protect the carbon bed from clogging and channeling. Mr. Pure Water can help size, install, and service a whole-house activated carbon filter to fit your household and local conditions.
