Including filter system and high-performance Enterococci filter.
Enterococci are bacteria that can appear in drinking water after environmental contamination, and you won’t be able to detect them by taste, smell, or sight — water can look clear yet still be affected. These organisms are commonly used as indicators of possible fecal contamination, which is why they’re a concern for household water quality. If your Kendall West property uses a private well, regular testing is especially important to know what’s in your water and to keep your family safe.
As a homeowner in Kendall West, you want water that’s safe for drinking, cooking, and bathing. Enterococci can get into a house’s water through surface-water intrusion, well flooding, damaged well caps, or plumbing problems that allow contaminants in. Even short-term events like heavy rains in Miami-Dade County can leave you unsure about using water around the house. Treating water where it enters your home is an effective way to regain confidence in every faucet and appliance.
The most effective single filter for removing enterococci is a whole-house ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system installed on the main water line. UV doesn’t trap bacteria like a media filter; instead it inactivates microorganisms as water flows past the lamp chamber so they cannot reproduce. Because a point-of-entry UV system treats all incoming water, it protects every tap, shower, and appliance in your Kendall West home — making it a practical whole-home choice when bacterial contamination is a concern.
For UV disinfection to perform well, the water needs to be clear enough for light to penetrate, since heavy sediment or turbidity can reduce effectiveness. Many Kendall West homes pair a prefilter with the UV unit to remove grit and cloudiness; the UV remains the primary treatment targeting enterococci. Correct sizing for your household flow rate and regular lamp and sleeve maintenance will help ensure consistent, chemical-free protection at the point of entry.
