Including filter system and high-performance Estrone filter.
Estrone is a natural estrogen hormone that can appear in water at extremely low concentrations. It’s often called an “emerging contaminant” because small amounts can reach waterways through wastewater and runoff. You won’t detect estrone by taste or smell, but many Peck homeowners choose to address trace hormone compounds as part of a broader water-quality plan. Treating water at the whole-house level helps reduce exposure at every tap, not only the kitchen sink.
Because estrone exists at trace levels, basic sediment screens or simple aesthetic filters won’t typically remove it. Residents of Peck may first learn about it from regional testing summaries, utility updates, or news stories about pharmaceuticals and hormones in water. Even when drinking water meets standards, some homeowners want an extra layer of treatment for peace of mind. The right system targets trace organic compounds while maintaining everyday flow and convenience.
To reduce estrone throughout your home, a whole-house activated carbon system is usually the most effective single-filter option. Premium activated carbon or catalytic carbon media can adsorb many trace organic and hormone-like compounds as water moves through the tank. Unlike faucet-mounted or pitcher filters, a well-sized whole-house carbon unit treats water used for bathing, laundry, and every faucet in a Peck home, which matters because contact with water goes far beyond drinking.
A whole-house carbon filter performs best when properly sized for your household flow so water has enough contact time with the carbon bed. Pairing the carbon tank with prefiltration prevents sediment from fouling the media and maintains performance. Mr. Pure Water can help Peck homeowners choose the right activated carbon setup for their plumbing and water conditions, then provide a simple maintenance plan to keep estrone reduction consistent and low-hassle.
