Including filter system and high-performance Estrone filter.
Estrone is a naturally occurring estrogen hormone that can sometimes be detected in water at very low concentrations. It’s considered an “emerging contaminant” because it can enter waterways through wastewater and runoff, and you won’t be able to see or taste it in your tap. Many Sills homeowners choose to address trace hormone compounds as part of a broader water-quality plan, and a whole-house system treats every tap in the home rather than just the kitchen sink.
Because estrone exists at trace levels, basic sediment screens or simple aesthetic filters usually won’t remove it. Residents of Sills may first learn about it from regional testing summaries, utility communications, or news coverage about pharmaceuticals and hormones in water. Even when local water meets minimum regulatory standards, some homeowners prefer an additional treatment step for peace of mind. The right whole-house solution reduces trace organic compounds while maintaining normal flow and everyday convenience.
For treating estrone throughout a Sills home, a whole-house activated carbon system is generally the most effective single-filter option. High-quality catalytic carbon or premium activated carbon media can adsorb many trace organic compounds, including hormone-like substances, as water moves through the tank. Unlike point-of-use pitchers or faucet-mounted devices, a correctly sized whole-house carbon system protects showers, laundry and every faucet in the house.
A whole-house carbon filter performs best when it’s sized to your household flow so water has sufficient contact time with the carbon bed, and when paired with prefiltration if sediment is present. Mr. Pure Water can assess Sills homes, recommend the right activated carbon setup, and put you on a simple maintenance schedule. Our goal is steady, low-hassle reduction of estrone across your plumbing system.
