Including filter system and high-performance Ethinyl Estradiol filter.
Ethinyl estradiol is a synthetic estrogen used in some medications that can occasionally reach drinking water in trace amounts. Because it can be active at very low concentrations, many Kendall homeowners choose a cautious approach even when water looks and tastes fine. It commonly gets into waterways through treated wastewater and everyday discharges, so if you’re worried about what’s coming into your house — whether you live near Dadeland Mall, The Hammocks, or West Kendall — testing and targeted filtration can provide extra reassurance.
Typical municipal treatment focuses on particles and microbes and may not remove every trace organic compound. Ethinyl estradiol is part of a group of micropollutants that often require specialized treatment to address effectively. Because it has no odor or color, it can be easy to miss without lab testing; a whole-house plan makes sure the water you use for bathing, cooking, and laundry around Kendall and greater Miami‑Dade County receives consistent treatment.
To reduce ethinyl estradiol, the most effective single whole-house option is an activated carbon filter. Systems using high-quality catalytic carbon or coconut-shell activated carbon can adsorb many trace organic compounds as water passes through the media. Installed at the point of entry, this style of filter treats every faucet and shower in your Kendall home and does so without adding chemicals to your water.
Because carbon performance depends on contact time and how much media is available, choosing the right tank size and flow rate for your Kendall residence is important—especially with Miami‑Dade’s hard water tendencies. Mr. Pure Water can recommend a system sized to your household so the media has enough exposure to capture contaminants. Regular media replacement keeps the system working well, and a before-and-after test can confirm removal and help set a maintenance schedule.
