Including filter system and high-performance GenX filter.
GenX is a form of PFAS that can reach drinking water when industrial compounds enter waterways and sources; it’s also called HFPO-DA and is grouped with other persistent “forever chemicals.” Because you usually can’t see or taste GenX, many Delta homeowners only learn what’s in their water through testing. When people are concerned about potential exposure, they often look for practical, whole-home options to reduce GenX at every tap.
GenX typically appears at very low concentrations, so treatment aimed at PFAS removal is needed rather than basic taste-and-odor fixes. A single point-of-use filter can protect one sink for drinking and cooking, but it won’t treat showers, laundry, teeth brushing or ice makers in your Delta home. A whole-house system treats water as it enters the plumbing, providing broader protection for everyday uses; sizing and maintenance are chosen so the system keeps up with your household’s daily water needs.
For whole-house solutions, the most effective single filter media for GenX (HFPO-DA) and other PFAS is granular activated carbon (GAC) sized for proper contact time using high-quality carbon. GenX can be harder to capture than some long-chain PFAS, so specifics like carbon type, bed depth, flow rate, and media life matter. Installing a whole-house GAC tank at the main line treats all incoming water in your Delta residence — including showers and faucets — without adding chemicals.
Activated carbon removes contaminants by adsorption, so performance depends on giving water enough contact time and replacing the media on schedule. Higher flow rates, heavy household use, and other competing contaminants shorten carbon life, which is why correct sizing and planned maintenance are important. Mr. Pure Water configures whole-house GAC systems for Delta homes around each property’s plumbing and usage patterns, and periodic testing can verify GenX reduction and indicate when service is needed.
