Giardia in Immokalee Florida Water

Unhealthy Levels of Giardia in the Water Supply of Immokalee Florida Homes

Giardia is a tiny parasite that can enter plumbing systems as hardy cysts; you may also see it called Giardia intestinalis or Giardia lamblia. Because the organisms are microscopic, they won’t change the taste, smell, or look of your water, so many Immokalee homeowners prefer added protection where water enters the house. In inland Southwest Florida, where hard groundwater and seasonal rains can stir up sediment, a primary barrier at the point of entry gives clear, consistent protection for every faucet and appliance.

Everyday exposures—like runoff after heavy storms, cross-connections, or aging pipes—can challenge treatment and let contaminants into household water. Even with municipal or well treatment, families in Collier County sometimes want an extra layer of defense, particularly if someone in the home is sensitive to water-quality changes. A whole-house system treats all water going to showers, washers, and outdoor spigots in Immokalee, offering peace of mind across the plumbing rather than just at a single tap.
