Giardia in Lotus Florida Water

Unhealthy Levels of Giardia in the Water Supply of Lotus Florida Homes

Giardia is a tiny parasite that can enter a water supply as hardy cysts; you might also hear it called Giardia intestinalis or Giardia lamblia. Because the cysts are microscopic, they won’t change the taste, smell, or appearance of your water, so homeowners in Lotus often don’t realize there’s a risk without testing or added protection. That’s why many local residents choose treatment at the point where water enters the house, to create a reliable barrier before water moves through plumbing and fixtures.

Water in Florida can be affected by things like runoff after storms, pipe issues, or variable treatment, and Lotus homeowners know seasonal changes sometimes influence what’s in tap water. Even if your utility or private well generally meets standards, an extra layer of defense can give peace of mind—especially for families or anyone sensitive to water quality. A whole-house system treats every shower, faucet, and appliance the same, making it a practical option for Lotus properties that want consistent protection throughout the home.
