Including filter system and high-performance Giardia filter.
Giardia is a tiny parasite that can enter water supplies as hardy cysts; you might also see it listed as Giardia intestinalis or Giardia lamblia. Because these organisms are microscopic, they won’t change the taste, smell, or look of your water, yet they can travel through plumbing to reach fixtures. Many Monet homeowners choose added protection at the point where water comes into the house so there’s a consistent barrier across every faucet and shower.
Water can pick up contamination from problems like damaged pipes, cross-connections, or runoff that compromises treatment, and some of these risks vary depending on whether a Monet home is on municipal supply or a private well. Even with routine treatment, families who want extra assurance—especially those with people sensitive to water quality—often install a whole-house system so every appliance and tap gets the same protection. In Monet’s humid subtropical climate, that whole-home approach is a practical way to manage what enters your plumbing.
For homeowners wanting a single, highly effective solution at the whole-house level, a cyst-rated absolute membrane filter is the recommended option. These systems remove Giardia cysts using a physical barrier with very fine pores instead of relying solely on chemicals. When sized correctly for your home’s flow needs, an absolute membrane filter can protect multiple fixtures simultaneously, offering a straightforward mechanical defense against cysts reaching your taps.
A whole-house absolute membrane filter is most effective when installed on the main water line so all incoming water is strained before entering the house. Performance hinges on choosing the proper micron rating and keeping the unit maintained so flow and protection remain consistent; many Monet systems also include an upstream prefilter to trap larger sediment and extend membrane life. The membrane stage is the critical component for addressing Giardia intestinalis and Giardia lamblia, and Mr. Pure Water can help size and install a system that fits your plumbing and household demand.
