Including filter system and high-performance Giardia filter.
Giardia is a tiny parasite that can enter water supplies as hardy cysts, sometimes named Giardia intestinalis or Giardia lamblia. Because these organisms are too small to see, you won’t detect them by sight, taste, or smell — especially in an Everglades-area community like Ochopee where many properties rely on wells or cisterns. That invisibility is why many homeowners on Collier County’s low-lying lands choose protection where water first enters the house.
Water in subtropical, very humid areas with a pronounced wet season — like Ochopee and the surrounding Everglades region — can be exposed to runoff, flooding, or compromised plumbing that affects quality. Even treated supplies may prompt some families to add another barrier for peace of mind, particularly if someone in the household is sensitive to contamination. A whole-house system gives uniform protection to every shower, faucet, and appliance, which is a sensible upgrade for local homes that want more control over what flows through their pipes.
The most reliable single filter type for removing Giardia at the whole-house level is an absolute cyst-rated membrane filter. This mechanical barrier uses very fine pores to physically strain out Giardia cysts rather than depending on chemicals. When sized correctly for an Ochopee home’s flow rate, the membrane protects multiple fixtures at once without leaving coverage gaps — a practical solution for properties dealing with sediment, tannins, or sulfur odors from wells or cisterns.
A whole-house membrane filter should be installed on the main service line so all incoming water to your Ochopee property passes through the barrier. Performance relies on choosing the correct micron rating and keeping the unit maintained so flow and protection remain steady; many local homes add an upstream prefilter to trap larger sediment and extend membrane life. The membrane stage is the essential step for addressing Giardia intestinalis and Giardia lamblia, and Mr. Pure Water can help size and match the system to your plumbing and household demand.
