Including filter system and high-performance Giardia filter.
Giardia is a tiny parasite that can enter water supplies as hardy cysts; you might also see it called Giardia intestinalis or Giardia lamblia. Because these cysts are microscopic, they won’t change the taste, smell, or look of your water, so homeowners in Pretty Bayou often don’t notice contamination without testing. That’s why many families choose added protection where water first enters the house.
Water can become exposed to contamination through things like damaged pipes, cross-connections, or runoff during heavy rains—issues any Florida community can face. Even when municipal treatment is in place, some Pretty Bayou households prefer an extra barrier for peace of mind, especially if someone in the home is sensitive to water quality. A whole-house system delivers the same level of protection to every shower, faucet, and appliance, giving local homeowners more control over what flows through their plumbing.
For treating Giardia at the whole-house level, the most effective single option is an absolute, cyst-rated membrane filter. This type of filter provides a physical barrier with very fine pores that strain out Giardia cysts rather than depending on chemicals alone. When sized correctly for your Pretty Bayou home’s flow rate, a membrane filter can protect multiple fixtures at once without leaving coverage gaps — a reliable, mechanical approach to reduce the risk of cysts reaching your taps.
A whole-house membrane filter performs best when installed on the main supply so all incoming water to your Pretty Bayou home passes through it. Because it’s a true barrier, choosing the right micron rating and keeping the filter maintained are essential to preserve flow and protection. Some homes add a prefilter upstream to catch larger sediment and extend membrane life, but the membrane stage is the critical component for removing Giardia intestinalis and Giardia lamblia. Mr. Pure Water can assess your plumbing and household demand to recommend the proper system.
