Including filter system and high-performance Hydrogen Sulfide filter.
A telltale sign of hydrogen sulfide in household water is a rotten-egg smell that makes showering, cooking, and laundry less pleasant. In Lowry, that odor may be intermittent — stronger in hot water, when water has sat in pipes, or right after you turn on a tap — and homeowners sometimes report a passing stale taste as well.
Often called sulfide, hydrogen sulfide forms when sulfur compounds are reduced in low-oxygen conditions. It can come from natural groundwater sources or from sulfur-reducing bacteria living in plumbing and water heaters. Along with the smell, it can cause black staining, discoloration, or slimy buildup on fixtures and appliances, so tracking down the right fix is usually faster than guessing at the cause.
For many Lowry households, a single whole-house oxidizing filter is one of the most reliable solutions for hydrogen sulfide odors. These systems use catalytic media that converts dissolved hydrogen sulfide into a form the filter can capture as water flows through the tank. Treating water at the point of entry removes the rotten-egg smell at every faucet, shower, and appliance instead of trying to mask it at individual taps.
A correctly sized oxidizing filter can also reduce related problems like staining and sediment produced during oxidation, provided the media and flow capacity match your household demand. If other concerns such as iron, manganese, or bacterial slime are present, we may recommend pretreatment or tweaks to the system. Mr. Pure Water can assess your Lowry home and recommend a whole-house setup that targets hydrogen sulfide and restores fresh-smelling water.
