Including filter system and high-performance Hydrogen Sulfide filter.
If your Majette home has that rotten-egg smell coming from taps or the shower, hydrogen sulfide is a common cause and makes everyday tasks less pleasant. The odor often shows up stronger in hot water, after water sits in pipes, or when you first run a faucet, and some homeowners also report a stale, on-and-off taste.
Often called sulfide, hydrogen sulfide forms when sulfur compounds are reduced in low-oxygen conditions and can come from natural groundwater or from sulfur-reducing bacteria in plumbing and water heaters. Beyond the smell, it can cause black staining, discoloration, or slimy buildup on fixtures and appliances, and because different problems can produce similar signs, finding the right treatment is usually the quickest way to restore water quality in Majette houses.
For most Majette households battling hydrogen sulfide odors, a single whole-house oxidizing filter is one of the most effective solutions. These systems employ a catalytic media that converts dissolved hydrogen sulfide into a removable form as water passes through the tank, treating every faucet, shower and appliance at the point where water enters your home so the rotten-egg smell is eliminated throughout the house.
A correctly chosen oxidizing filter can also reduce the staining and sediment that sometimes accompany sulfide issues, but it’s important to size the media to your flow rate so the water gets enough contact time. If other concerns—like iron, manganese or bacterial slime—are present, pretreatment or tweaks may be suggested; Mr. Pure Water can assess your Majette plumbing and recommend a whole-house setup that targets hydrogen sulfide and keeps your water smelling fresh.
