Including filter system and high-performance Naproxen filter.
Naproxen is a widely used over-the-counter anti-inflammatory, and tiny amounts can enter waterways when medicines reach wastewater. Municipal treatment plants focus on broad public safety but don’t always remove every dissolved organic compound. For Clio homeowners, that can prompt concern about what’s in the water you use for drinking, cooking, bathing and laundry—not because it changes taste or smell, but because of low-level residues over time.
Because naproxen is common, it’s often grouped with other “emerging contaminants” that won’t alter water’s appearance, so only laboratory testing can confirm their presence. If you’d like added confidence for every faucet in your Clio home, treating water at the point it enters the house is a sensible choice. A whole-house system protects against exposure from everyday uses rather than relying solely on a single drinking-water filter.
To reduce naproxen throughout the house, a whole-house activated carbon system is typically the most effective single-filter option. Activated carbon adsorbs many dissolved organic compounds, including various pharmaceutical residues, as water passes through the media. Unlike basic sediment filters, carbon targets dissolved contaminants you can’t strain out, and it also helps improve overall water quality by capturing other organics that may accompany pharmaceuticals.
A correctly sized whole-house carbon filter provides the contact time and media volume needed to capture trace organics like naproxen, so sizing it to your Clio home’s flow rates is important. Carbon media wears out, so timely replacement and routine maintenance keep performance reliable. If your plumbing would benefit from particulate control as well, adding a sediment prefilter upstream protects the carbon stage, which does the main naproxen reduction; Mr. Pure Water can help Clio homeowners choose the right configuration for their house and usage.
