Perchlorate in Stern Florida Water

Unhealthy Levels of Perchlorate in the Water Supply of Stern Florida Homes

Perchlorate is a very soluble salt that can enter drinking water when it leaches into waterways from industrial or environmental sources. Because it dissolves so readily, simple sediment filters or standard activated carbon alone often won’t remove it reliably. Perchlorate typically doesn’t change taste, smell, or appearance, so Stern homeowners won’t necessarily notice it without testing. If you’re worried about perchlorate in your household supply, the aim should be steady reduction at every tap—not only the kitchen sink.

Even clear water can contain trace chemicals like perchlorate, and levels can shift over time. Many Stern residents start looking into treatment after seeing a lab result, reviewing a water-quality report, or simply wanting more confidence in the water used for cooking, bathing, and laundry. A whole-house system makes that easier by protecting all fixtures and appliances instead of relying on pitchers or point-of-use units. The best choice is one built around perchlorate’s chemistry and how it behaves in solution.
