Including filter system and high-performance Perchloroethylene filter.
Perchloroethylene can occur in drinking water at low levels without noticeable taste or odor, so homeowners often aren’t aware it’s present. Known also as PCE, PERC, and tetrachloroethylene, this solvent is commonly tied to industrial and dry‑cleaning activities. In Lely Resort—where many properties use Collier County municipal water—knowing potential sources and how utilities or private systems treat these compounds is the first step toward protecting every tap in your home.
Because PCE can volatilize from water into indoor air, exposure isn’t limited to drinking—everyday activities like showering, bathing, and doing dishes can raise contact with volatile organic compounds. If your Lely Resort home is on municipal supply, testing and treatment practices may differ from one area to another; if you have a private supply, testing is your responsibility. A whole‑house strategy treats water where it enters your home, helping reduce both ingestion and airborne routes of exposure.
To lower perchloroethylene throughout the plumbing, a whole‑house activated carbon system is usually the single most effective filter option. High‑quality carbon media adsorbs many VOCs, including PCE/PERC, as water passes through the tank, and treating tetrachloroethylene at the point of entry also reduces what can off‑gas during showers and other water use. That means every fixture—from your kitchen to bathrooms and laundry—gets cleaner water instead of protecting only a single sink.
Correct sizing matters because contact time and flow rate determine how effectively PCE is captured by carbon. Whole‑house carbon systems are typically placed before plumbing branches so they protect bathrooms, laundry, and kitchen lines across Lely Resort homes that receive hard Collier County water, where sediment prefiltration can help prevent early clogging of the carbon bed. Mr. Pure Water will assess your household demand and plumbing layout to match the right whole‑house carbon system for your needs.
