Personal Care Products in Astor Farms Florida Water

Unhealthy Levels of Personal Care Products in the Water Supply of Astor Farms Florida Homes

Personal care products can leave tiny residues that enter water supplies through everyday use and disposal. This group covers ingredients from soaps, shampoos, lotions, deodorants, fragrances and cosmetics, plus related consumer chemicals that often persist at very low concentrations. You probably won’t detect them by taste or smell, but many Astor Farms homeowners prefer to limit these compounds in water used for bathing, laundry and cooking. When people say PPCPs, they mean personal care products and similar consumer chemicals that can be resistant to some treatment methods.

Because personal care products include many different formulas, they behave differently once they enter water: some dissolve readily, some attach to particles, and others degrade slowly. That variability — combined with changes in source water and treatment — means PPCPs can appear intermittently. In communities around Astor Farms, where groundwater from the Floridan aquifer is common, a point-of-entry approach can give you a steadier, more predictable water experience throughout the house by reducing these compounds at the source.
