Including filter system and high-performance Personal Care Products filter.
Everyday use and disposal of soaps, shampoos, lotions, deodorants, fragrances and cosmetics can leave behind trace ingredients that make their way into water. This broad group — often called personal care products or PPCPs — includes a variety of consumer chemicals that may persist at very low levels. You probably won’t detect them by smell or taste, but many Berrydale homeowners prefer to limit what’s in the water used for bathing, laundry and cooking.
Because personal care products cover many formulas, they act differently once they reach the water: some dissolve, some bind to particles, and some break down slowly. That variability — and changes in upstream conditions or treatment — can mean intermittent presence in the supply. For families in Berrydale who want a steadier water experience throughout their homes, reducing these substances at the point where water enters the house helps lower everyday exposure at every faucet and shower.
For most personal care products, a whole-house activated carbon filter sized for full-home flow is the single most effective option. Activated carbon adsorbs many organic compounds, including numerous ingredients found in personal care products and PPCPs. Because these compounds are typically present at very low concentrations, the system needs sufficient contact time with the carbon while still supporting normal household flow — which is why a properly sized, high-capacity carbon tank is generally recommended over small cartridge filters.
Mr. Pure Water installs whole-house carbon systems to treat water as it enters Berrydale homes, reducing personal care products before water reaches showers, sinks and appliances. This point-of-entry approach addresses PPCPs that aren’t captured by basic sediment filtration, and with the right carbon media and sizing you can improve overall water quality without changing daily plumbing habits. If PPCPs are a concern, a whole-house activated carbon filter is a practical, home-wide solution.
