Including filter system and high-performance Personal Care Products filter.
Everyday use and disposal of soaps, shampoos, lotions, deodorants, fragrances and cosmetics can leave trace ingredients that sometimes make their way into local water. This broad group — often called PPCPs — includes many consumer chemicals and residues that may persist at very low concentrations and aren’t always noticeable by taste or smell. Homeowners in Fenholloway who prefer extra reassurance often choose to limit these substances in water used for bathing, laundry and cooking.
Because personal care products include many different formulas, they won’t all act the same in water: some dissolve readily, others attach to particles, and a few break down slowly. That variability — and differences in upstream conditions and treatment — can make their occurrence unpredictable. For Fenholloway residents wanting steadier water quality across faucets and showers, reducing personal care products at the point where water enters the house provides a more uniform solution.
The most effective single-filter strategy for many personal care products is a whole-house activated carbon system sized to handle full-home flow. Activated carbon adsorbs a wide range of organic compounds, including many ingredients found in personal care products and PPCPs. Because these compounds are often present at very low levels, a properly sized carbon tank that gives the water ample contact time while maintaining good flow is generally preferred over small cartridge filters for whole-home treatment.
Mr. Pure Water installs whole-house activated carbon filters that treat your water as it enters Fenholloway homes, so reduction happens before water reaches showers, sinks and appliances. This approach is more effective for targeting personal care products than relying on basic sediment filtration alone. With appropriate carbon media and correct sizing, you’ll notice improved overall water quality without changing how you use your plumbing—making a point-of-entry carbon system a practical option if you’re concerned about PPCPs.
