Personal Care Products in Foley Florida Water

Unhealthy Levels of Personal Care Products in the Water Supply of Foley Florida Homes

Everyday use and disposal of soaps, shampoos, lotions, deodorants, fragrances and cosmetics can leave trace ingredients that sometimes find their way into water supplies. These personal care products — often called PPCPs — include a wide array of consumer chemicals that may remain at very low concentrations; they’re not always detectable by taste or smell but many homeowners in Foley prefer to limit what’s in the water used for bathing, laundry and cooking. Reducing these residues at the point where water enters your home is one way local families choose to feel more confident about their household water.

Because personal care products cover many formulas, they behave differently once they enter the water. Some dissolve easily, others attach to particles, and a few break down slowly — which makes treating PPCPs a mixed challenge. Occurrence can vary with upstream conditions and treatment, so if you want a steadier, more consistent water experience in your Foley home, limiting personal care products at the point of entry helps reduce exposure across showers, sinks and appliances.
