Including filter system and high-performance Personal Care Products filter.
Everyday use and disposal of soaps, shampoos, lotions, deodorants, fragrances and cosmetics can leave behind trace ingredients that sometimes make their way into local water supplies. This catch‑all group of personal care products — often called PPCPs — includes related consumer chemicals that can persist at very low concentrations. You might not detect them by taste or smell, but many Majette homeowners prefer to limit these residues in the water they use for bathing, cooking and laundry as a precaution.
Because personal care products span many different formulas, they act differently once they enter water: some dissolve readily, others bind to particles, and a few degrade slowly. That variability — and changes in source water and treatment — can mean levels fluctuate over time. For residents in Majette who want steadier water quality from every faucet, reducing personal care products at the point where water enters the house provides a consistent layer of protection across showers, sinks and appliances.
For most personal care products, the single most effective whole‑house option is an activated carbon system sized for full‑home flow. Activated carbon adsorbs many organic constituents found in personal care products and PPCPs; because these compounds are often present only in trace amounts, adequate contact time with a high‑capacity carbon bed while keeping strong flow is essential. That’s why a properly sized carbon tank for whole‑home use is generally preferred over small cartridge filters when treating this class of contaminants.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole‑house carbon filtration to treat water as it enters your Majette home, so reductions occur before water reaches showers, sinks and appliances. This point‑of‑entry activated carbon approach targets personal care products that simple sediment or point‑of‑use filters can miss. With the right carbon media and correct sizing, you’ll get improved water quality throughout the house without changing how you use your plumbing — a practical step for homeowners concerned about PPCPs.
