Including filter system and high-performance Personal Care Products filter.
Everyday use and disposal of soaps, shampoos, lotions, deodorants, fragrances and cosmetics can leave trace ingredients that sometimes make their way into water. These personal care products — also called PPCPs — include a wide mix of residues and related compounds that often occur at very low levels and aren’t detectable by taste or smell. Homeowners in Medart who prefer to limit what’s in the water for bathing, laundry and cooking often look for options to reduce these consumer chemicals at the tap.
Because personal care products cover many different chemistries, they behave unpredictably in water: some dissolve readily, others cling to particles, and a few break down slowly. That variability means concentrations can change depending on source water and treatment upstream. If you want a steadier water experience inside your Medart home, tackling personal care products at the point of entry helps reduce day-to-day exposure from showers, faucets and appliances.
For most personal care products, the best single-filter choice is a whole-house activated carbon system sized to handle your home’s full flow. Activated carbon adsorbs many organic ingredients found in personal care products and PPCPs, and because these contaminants are usually present in very small amounts, adequate contact time with the carbon while preserving proper flow is essential. That’s why a correctly sized, high-capacity carbon tank is generally preferred over small cartridge filters for whole-home protection.
At Mr. Pure Water we recommend whole-house activated carbon filters installed at the point of entry so water is treated before it reaches showers, sinks and appliances in your Medart residence. This approach targets personal care products that standard sediment filters can’t reliably remove, and with the right carbon media and system sizing you can improve water quality without altering how you use your plumbing. For homeowners worried about PPCPs, a properly designed point-of-entry carbon system is a practical, whole-home solution.
