Including filter system and high-performance Personal Care Products filter.
Everyday use and disposal of soaps, shampoos, lotions, deodorants, fragrances and cosmetics can leave behind trace ingredients that sometimes find their way into local water. Homeowners in Seaglades may not detect these residues by smell or taste, yet many choose to limit what reaches their baths, laundry and kitchen. When people say PPCPs, they mean this group of personal care products and related consumer chemicals that can persist despite treatment.
Because products in the personal care category come from many formulas, they react differently once they enter the water stream — some dissolve, others cling to particles, and a few break down slowly. That variability can lead to intermittent appearances depending on source water and treatment upstream. For Seaglades homeowners who want steadier water quality across faucets and showers, treating incoming water at the point of entry helps reduce daily exposure to these PPCPs throughout the house.
The most effective single-filter option for addressing many personal care products is a whole-house activated carbon system sized to handle your home’s full flow. Activated carbon adsorbs numerous organic compounds found in soaps, cosmetics and related PPCPs. Because these compounds are often present at very low concentrations, the system needs adequate contact time with the carbon while preserving strong household water flow — which is why a properly sized, high-capacity carbon tank is usually preferable to small cartridge-style filters for whole-home use.
At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house activated carbon systems to treat water as it enters Seaglades homes, so reduction happens before water reaches showers, sinks and appliances. This approach targets personal care product residues that basic sediment filters can’t address on their own. With the right carbon media and correct sizing, you’ll get improved water quality throughout the house without changing how you use your plumbing — a practical point-of-entry step if you’re concerned about PPCPs.
