Including filter system and high-performance Personal Care Products filter.
Everyday grooming and cosmetic products can leave tiny residues that sometimes enter water systems after use or disposal. This group covers soaps, shampoos, lotions, deodorants, fragrances, and cosmetics, plus related compounds often called PPCPs. You probably won’t detect them by smell or taste, yet many Woods homeowners choose to limit these ingredients in the water they use for bathing, cooking, and laundry. Reducing their presence at the home can give you more confidence in what comes from your taps.
Because personal care products include many different chemical formulations, they behave in varied ways in water—some dissolve readily, some attach to particles, and others degrade slowly. That variability means concentrations can fluctuate depending on upstream conditions and treatment methods. For Woods residents wanting steadier water quality throughout their house, addressing personal care products at the point of entry helps provide consistent reduction for showers, sinks, and appliances.
For removing most components associated with personal care products, a whole-house activated carbon system sized for full-home flow is the most effective single-filter option. Activated carbon adsorbs many organic ingredients found in these products and PPCPs, and because they are typically present in very low concentrations, adequate contact time with the carbon is important while preserving strong flow. That’s why a high-capacity, properly sized carbon tank is usually preferred over small cartridge filters for whole-home treatment.
Mr. Pure Water installs whole-house activated carbon filtration so Woods homeowners get treated water as it enters their property, reducing personal care products before water reaches fixtures and appliances. This approach targets contaminants that sediment filters alone may miss, and with the right carbon media and sizing you can improve water quality without changing daily plumbing use. If PPCPs are a concern, a point-of-entry carbon system is a practical step for home-wide protection.
