Including filter system and high-performance PFAS filter.
PFAS are a group of man-made chemicals often called forever chemicals because they persist in the environment. They’ve been used for stain resistance, water repellency and in some industrial processes, and when they reach drinking water supplies they’re not always removed by basic filters like pitchers. In Kendall West and the broader Miami-Dade area people typically start looking into options after utility notices, local reporting, or conversations with neighbors about testing and water quality.
Because PFAS can be present even when water looks and tastes normal, many Kendall West families prefer an extra layer of protection beyond standard treatment. A whole-house system treats water used for bathing, laundry, dishwashing and cooking so every tap is covered — useful in a hard-water area where mineral scale can affect appliances and plumbing. Treating water before it reaches fixtures also reduces the chance of reintroducing contaminants during everyday tasks like washing produce or making ice.
For whole-house PFAS reduction, the single most effective option is a properly sized granular activated carbon (GAC) system using high-quality carbon with long contact time. PFAS molecules adsorb onto activated carbon, and slowing flow through the media improves performance. A whole-house carbon tank built for PFAS is not the same as a small inline carbon cartridge designed just for chlorine taste and odor, so correct sizing to meet Kendall West household flow demands is essential to sustaining meaningful reduction.
Mr. Pure Water installs whole-house activated carbon systems at the point where water enters your Kendall West home so showers, sinks, appliances and outdoor taps receive treated water. Long-term results depend on which PFAS are present, the local water chemistry in Miami-Dade (including hard water tendencies), and household usage, so choosing the right carbon media and replacement schedule matters. If you’re concerned about PFAS, we’ll help select and size a system that fits your home and gives you more confidence in your water.
