Including filter system and high-performance PFAS filter.
PFAS are a group of human-made chemicals often called forever chemicals because they persist in the environment. They’ve been used for stain resistance, water repellency, and certain industrial purposes, and when they reach water supplies they can be tough to remove with simple pitchers or faucet filters. Many Lake Mystic homeowners begin researching options after hearing about testing or receiving utility information, looking for solutions that go beyond basic treatment.
Because PFAS may be present even when water looks and tastes normal, families in Lake Mystic often choose an extra layer of protection beyond standard municipal treatment. A whole-house system treats water used for showering, laundry, dishwashing and cooking so every tap delivers the same filtered water. That reduces the chance of reintroducing contaminants during everyday tasks like washing produce or making ice, and gives homeowners more confidence in water throughout the house.
For whole-home PFAS reduction the most effective single solution is a properly sized granular activated carbon (GAC) system using high‑quality carbon designed for extended contact time. PFAS compounds adsorb onto activated carbon, and slowing water flow through a carbon tank improves removal performance. A whole-house GAC tank built for PFAS is not the same as a small inline cartridge intended for chlorine taste and odor; correct sizing to Lake Mystic household flow demands is essential to preserve meaningful reduction as the media is used.
Mr. Pure Water installs whole-house granular activated carbon systems at the point where water enters your Lake Mystic home, so showers, sinks, appliances and outdoor taps receive treated water without multiple devices. Long-term results depend on which PFAS are present, your water chemistry and household usage, so choosing the right carbon media and a replacement schedule matters. If you’re concerned about PFAS in your home, we’ll help size and select a system that fits your needs and gives you steadier, more dependable water.
