Including filter system and high-performance PFAS filter.
PFAS are a group of man-made chemicals often called forever chemicals because they persist in the environment. They’ve been used for stain resistance, water repellency and some industrial uses. These compounds can get into water sources and are not reliably removed by simple at‑tap filters or pitchers. Many Lois homeowners begin exploring options after hearing about local testing or seeing notices from their water provider and want a clearer path to protection.
Because PFAS may be present even when water looks and tastes normal, households in Lois frequently choose an extra layer of protection beyond standard treatment. A whole-house system treats water used for bathing, laundry, dishwashing and cooking, offering consistent coverage at every faucet. That reduces the chance of reintroducing contaminants during everyday tasks like washing produce or filling ice trays. If you want greater confidence in the water throughout your Lois home, focus on filtration methods known to reduce PFAS.
For whole-house PFAS removal, the most effective single option is a properly sized granular activated carbon (GAC) system using high-quality carbon made for long contact time. PFAS compounds adsorb onto activated carbon, and performance is best when the system slows the flow through the media. A dedicated whole-house carbon tank designed for PFAS is not the same as a small inline cartridge intended mainly for chlorine taste and odor—sizing to meet your home’s peak flow is critical to sustain meaningful reduction.
Mr. Pure Water installs whole-house activated carbon systems that treat water where it enters your Lois home, delivering filtered water to showers, faucets, appliances and outdoor spigots without multiple point-of-use units. Long-term results depend on which PFAS are present, your water chemistry and household use, so selecting the right media and a proper replacement schedule matters. If PFAS is a concern for your family, we’ll help size and match a system to your Lois household and water quality goals.
