Including filter system and high-performance PFAS filter.
PFAS are a group of man-made chemicals often called forever chemicals because they don’t break down easily in the environment. They’ve been added to products for stain and water resistance and used in some industrial applications. When PFAS reach water supplies they’re not easily removed by simple point-of-use devices like pitcher filters, so many Nurmi Isles and greater Fort Lauderdale homeowners begin looking for solutions after seeing local water quality notices or hearing community reports.
Because PFAS can be present even when water looks clear and tastes normal, families around Nurmi Isles often choose a whole-house layer of protection beyond standard treatment. A whole-house system treats water used for bathing, laundry, dishwashing and cooking, reducing the chance of reintroducing contaminants through activities like washing produce or making ice. In our warm, humid Broward County climate—where municipal water is moderately hard—treating water at the point of entry gives more consistent protection across every faucet and appliance.
For whole-house removal, the most effective single option is a properly sized granular activated carbon (GAC) system using high-quality carbon with extended contact time. PFAS molecules can adsorb onto activated carbon, and systems engineered to slow flow through the media perform better than small inline cartridges designed mainly for chlorine taste and odor. A whole-house carbon tank built specifically for PFAS, sized to your home’s peak flow and usage, is essential to maintain meaningful reduction over time.
Mr. Pure Water installs whole-house granular activated carbon filtration at the point where water enters Nurmi Isles homes so showers, sinks, appliances and outdoor spigots receive treated water. Because performance depends on the types of PFAS present, your water chemistry, and household demand—and because South Florida water is moderately hard—we help select the right carbon media and set a replacement schedule that fits your needs. If you’d like help matching a whole-house system to your home and goals for cleaner, more reliable water, we’re local and ready to assist.
