Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS chemicals that can turn up in household water, and Bay Heights homeowners often find out about it through private testing or questions about their water. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment and can be hard to remove once it’s present, many families in our humid subtropical area choose a treatment that protects the whole house. Taking action early gives you more confidence in the water you use for drinking, cooking and bathing around Bay Heights.
PFBA may be present even when water looks clear, tastes normal, and has no noticeable odor, and it can occur alongside other PFAS. That’s why some Bay Heights homeowners prefer solutions designed for a broader range of these compounds rather than simple taste-and-odor filters. The smartest first step is an up-to-date water analysis so you know whether PFBA is a concern for your home; from there we can recommend a whole-house system sized to your household’s needs.
To reduce PFBA at the point of entry to your Bay Heights home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. GAC works by adsorbing many organic contaminants, including various PFAS, as water moves through the carbon media. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed for better reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance in your house, while also improving overall water quality by removing common nuisance compounds.
Because PFBA can be harder to capture than some longer-chain PFAS, removal depends on carbon quality, bed depth and flow rate — not just installing a small cartridge. Mr. Pure Water designs whole-house GAC systems for Bay Heights homes to match demand and maintain effective contact time through the media. Regular media replacement is important so the carbon does not become exhausted; if your water test shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help you select a configuration that targets PFBA while addressing broader PFAS treatment goals.
