Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS chemicals that can turn up in household water, and Bohemia homeowners commonly hear about it from test results, utility notices, or neighborhood conversations. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment and not always easy to manage, many families on Long Island or in nearby parts of Bohemia choose a home-wide treatment so the contaminant is reduced at every tap. Tackling it proactively makes you more comfortable with the water you use for drinking, cooking, and bathing around your house.
PFBA may be present even when water looks and tastes normal, so visible clarity isn’t a reliable guide in Bohemia. It can occur along with other PFAS, which is why many homeowners prefer systems that address a wider range of these compounds rather than just basic taste-and-odor issues. If PFBA is a concern for your Bohemia home, start with an up-to-date water analysis so the right whole-house system can be sized for your family and local water use.
To reduce PFBA where water enters your Bohemia home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. GAC removes many organic contaminants, including several PFAS compounds, by adsorbing them as water flows through the media. A correctly sized GAC tank delivers the contact time needed for meaningful reduction and protects every faucet, shower, and appliance in your house, while also improving overall water quality by removing nuisance compounds carbon captures.
PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, so performance depends on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate—not just installing a small cartridge. At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house GAC systems to match the demand of Bohemia homes, ensuring appropriate contact time in the media. Regular media replacement keeps the carbon from becoming exhausted; if your testing shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help you pick a configuration that prioritizes PFBA reduction while addressing broader PFAS concerns.
