Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS chemicals that can turn up in household water. Bon Ami homeowners commonly hear about it after getting a private well test, receiving a utility notice, or asking what’s in their tap water. Because PFBA persists in the environment and can be hard to address once present, many families in and around Bon Ami choose a whole-home treatment approach to reduce exposure across drinking, cooking, and bathing water. Taking action early can give you greater confidence in the water used throughout your house.
PFBA may be present even when your water looks clear, tastes fine, and has no smell. It can occur alongside other PFAS, which is why some Bon Ami residents prefer systems designed to tackle a broader group of these compounds instead of just a basic taste-and-odor filter. If PFBA is a concern for your household, start with an up-to-date water analysis so you know what’s in your supply. From those results, we can recommend a whole-house system sized to your Bon Ami home and typical water use.
To reduce PFBA where water enters the home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. Carbon filtration removes many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS compounds, by adsorbing them as water flows through the media. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed for improved reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance in your Bon Ami home. This solution can also enhance overall water quality by cutting nuisance compounds that carbon captures.
PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, so performance depends on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate—not just having a carbon cartridge in line. At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house GAC systems to match household demand in Bon Ami, helping ensure effective contact time through the media. Regular media replacement is important so the carbon doesn’t become exhausted and lose capacity. If testing in your home shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help you choose a configuration that emphasizes PFBA reduction while supporting broader PFAS treatment goals.
