Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one member of the PFAS family that can turn up in household water. In Eldred, homeowners often first hear about it after a private test, a utility communication, or when they start asking what’s in their drinking water. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment and not easy to remove once present, many local families prefer treating the whole house so water used for drinking, cooking and bathing is addressed consistently.
You can’t rely on clarity, taste, or smell to spot PFBA — water may seem normal even when these compounds are present. In Eldred’s humid subtropical climate, where groundwater sources and plumbing can vary, PFBA may appear alongside other PFAS, which is why some homeowners opt for treatments that cover a broader range of compounds instead of a simple taste-and-odor device. A current water analysis is the best first step so your system is sized correctly for your household needs.
To reduce PFBA at the point of entry to your home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. GAC works by adsorbing many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS compounds, as water flows through the carbon media. A properly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed for meaningful reduction and treats every faucet, shower and appliance in an Eldred home.
PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, so results depend on carbon quality, bed depth and flow rate — not just installing a small cartridge. Mr. Pure Water configures whole-house GAC systems to match Eldred household demand, helping ensure adequate exposure time in the media. Regular media replacement keeps the system performing; if your testing detects multiple PFAS, we’ll recommend a setup that prioritizes PFBA reduction while supporting broader PFAS treatment goals.
