Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS chemicals that can be detected in household water. Haile homeowners commonly hear about it after a private test, a utility communication, or when researching what’s in their drinking water. Since PFBA persists in the environment and can be hard to manage once present, many families in and around Haile prefer treating water at the whole-house level so it’s reduced across drinking, cooking, and bathing taps. Tackling it early can give you more confidence in the water your household uses every day.
PFBA may be present even when the water looks, smells, and tastes normal, and it can occur with other PFAS too. That’s why some Haile residents opt for treatment that targets a broader group of these compounds rather than a simple taste-and-odor filter. A current water analysis is the best first step to determine whether PFBA or related chemicals are an issue in your home. After testing, we’ll size a whole-house system to your Haile home and typical water use so it performs effectively.
To reduce PFBA at the point where water enters a home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is commonly the most effective single-filter option. As water flows through the carbon media it adsorbs many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS substances. When a GAC tank is properly sized it gives the contact time needed for improved reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance in your Haile home, while also helping with other nuisance compounds carbon is good at removing.
PFBA can be trickier to remove than some other PFAS, so performance comes down to carbon quality, media depth, and flow rate—not just installing a small cartridge. Mr. Pure Water configures whole-house GAC systems for Haile households to ensure the media receives the right exposure time for effective adsorption. Regular media replacement matters to prevent the carbon from becoming exhausted. If your water test shows multiple PFAS, we’ll recommend a system layout that prioritizes PFBA reduction while addressing broader PFAS treatment goals.
