Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is one of the PFAS compounds that can turn up in household water. In Hays Place many homeowners first hear about it after a private test, a utility notice, or questions about what’s in their drinking water. Because PFBA is persistent in the environment and can be hard to manage once present, families often choose treatments that reduce it throughout the entire home so they can feel more confident about water used for drinking, cooking, and bathing.
PFBA won’t necessarily change your water’s clarity, taste, or smell, yet it can still be there. It may also be accompanied by other PFAS, which is why many Hays Place residents opt for solutions that address a broader group of these chemicals instead of a simple taste-and-odor filter. The first practical step is an up-to-date water analysis so you know what levels, if any, are present; from there a whole-house system can be sized to fit your home and typical water use.
To reduce PFBA at the point where water enters a Hays Place home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is generally the most effective single-filter option. GAC works by adsorbing many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS compounds, as water moves through the media. A correctly sized GAC tank gives the contact time needed for stronger reduction and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance, while also helping with other nuisance compounds that carbon captures.
Because PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, performance relies on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate—not just installing a carbon cartridge. Mr. Pure Water designs whole-house GAC systems for Hays Place homes to match household demand and preserve effective contact time through the media. Routine media replacement is important so the carbon doesn’t become exhausted; if your testing shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help you pick a configuration that targets PFBA while supporting broader PFAS treatment goals.
