Including filter system and high-performance PFBA filter.
PFBA is a PFAS chemical that can turn up in household water supplies, and homeowners in Highlands Park Estates often first hear about it from a water test or a utility notification. Because PFBA persists in the environment and can be hard to address once present, many families in our area prefer a treatment strategy that treats water at every entry point to the house. Tackling PFBA across the whole home gives you greater confidence in the water used for drinking, cooking, and bathing in our humid subtropical Florida community.
PFBA may be present even when your water looks and tastes normal, and it can occur alongside other PFAS — which is why some Highlands Park Estates homeowners opt for systems that target a broader group of compounds instead of just treating taste or odor. The smartest first step is a current water analysis so you know exactly what’s in your supply, especially if you suspect issues with hardness or iron from a well or local supply. From that point, a whole-house system can be sized and configured to fit your home and daily water usage.
To reduce PFBA where water enters a Highlands Park Estates home, a whole-house granular activated carbon (GAC) filter is typically the most effective single-filter option. GAC removes many organic contaminants, including numerous PFAS, by adsorbing them as water moves through the carbon bed. When sized properly, a GAC tank gives the contact time needed to lower PFBA and treats every faucet, shower, and appliance throughout the house, while also addressing common nuisance compounds that carbon captures.
PFBA can be tougher to remove than some larger PFAS, so performance relies on carbon quality, bed depth, and flow rate—not just installing a cartridge. At Mr. Pure Water we design whole-house GAC systems for Highlands Park Estates households to provide appropriate contact time for your family’s demand. Regular media replacement keeps the system working well before the carbon is exhausted. If your water test shows multiple PFAS, we’ll help you choose a configuration that prioritizes PFBA reduction while supporting broader PFAS treatment goals.
